Can Generative AI Enrich Social Science?
- March 31, 2026 | 3:00–4:00 p.m., followed by a reception
- Virginia Tech Inn and Skelton Conference Center or via Zoom
Generative AI offers powerful new tools to study human behavior, while raising concerns about bias, ethics, and research quality. Dr. Christopher Bail will review ongoing debates about its use and suggest how social scientists can leverage AI’s opportunities while addressing its challenges.
Although a virtual option will be available, in-person attendance is encouraged and will allow participants to network and enjoy light refreshments at a reception immediately following the event.
A limited number of spaces are available for small group discussions with Dr. Bail prior to his presentation at the ISCE building. Please complete this form if you are interested in participating.
If you are an individual with a disability and desire an accommodation, please contact Becca Halm at beccah@vt.edu during regular business hours at least ten days before the event.
