Workshops
ISCE sponsors a number of workshops and seminars throughout the year. Some of these workshops provide a series of ongoing, interactive sessions with development of draft proposals and feedback, while others are one-time seminars on topics of interest to social science faculty. Examples of some of the annual workshops ISCE typically offers include:
- ISCE Preparing Research for an External Proposal (PREP) Program
- NSF CAREER Award Sessions, co-sponsored with the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences - Spring semester
- Proposal Development Institute (PDI) mentoring groups - Spring semester
For more information on these workshops or any others ISCE offers, contact Yancey Crawford.
Examples of one-time sessions include ISCE-sponsored events featuring Dr. Christine Hunter, acting director for the National Institutes of Health Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research, who presented in March 2023 or Dr. Tracy Gaudet, a national expert in the concept of Whole Health, who presented in November 2022.
Other sessions focus on enhancing research/proposal development skills such as an introduction to NIH funding or learning about online data collection metholodogies. Visit the ISCE Events page for details on prior events and topics, some of which have recordings or Powerpoint slides available.
Stay tuned for announcements on our website for future workshops or seminars.
